Anabelle Smith - Victoria

For Anabelle, 2008 was a magnificent year, gaining invitations from Diving Australia to contest the Beijing Olympic selection trials. As a direct result of her performance she was selected to represent Australia at the Fina Italian Grandprix in June
.
Following on from this Anabelle was selected to represent Australia at the Fina World Junior Diving Championships, held in Germany in September, where she put in a fine performance and was rewarded with 2 Bronze Medals. In December she won gold at the Pacific Schools Games in Canberra.

In the 2009 Open Victorian Diving Championships Anabelle won both the 3 metre and 1 metre springboard events. At the recent 2009 Open Australian Diving Championships Anabelle was 5th (3rd Australian) in the10m platform, 7th( (4th Australian) in the 3 metre springboard and 4th in the 1 m springboard.

Anabelle has been selected in the Australian team for the FINA Grandprix events in April and May, 2009 - FINA Grandprix Canada (Montreal), FINA Grandprix USA (Fort Lauderdale) and FINA Grandprix Spain (Madrid)

Anabelle was named 2008 Australian Female Junior B diver of the year, is a member of Diving Australia's 2009 National Development Squad, and a '2012 and Beyond' Victorian Institute of Sports scholarship holder. Her main goal is to represent Australia at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, the 2012 London Olympic Games and beyond.
