“When considering the stature of an
athlete or for that matter any person, I set
great store in certain qualities which I
believe to be essential in addition to
skill. They are that the person conducts
his of her life with dignity, with integrity,
courage, and perhaps most of all,
with modesty. These virtues are totally
compatible with pride, ambition, and
competitiveness.”

Sir Donald Bradman speaking at his
induction into The Sport Australia Hall of
Fame, 1985

Isabella Holland - Queensland

Isabella is one of the youngest high perormance athletes currently competing at the WTA and Junior ITF levels. As a 13 year old, Isabella was rated in the top 3 in the world for her age, and has continued that trend over the past couple of years. She is currently the youngest top 30 on the open Australian rankings, and is No.2 in the world for her birth year on the WTA rankings.

Isabella has competed for Australia internationally for a number of years and this year was selected in the Australian Junior Fed Cup team, despite being eligible for next year as well.

Whilst Isabella is committed to her tennis she is still full time at school in Brisbane and has shown an excellent commitment to her academic studies. She enjoys learning new languages and is proficient in Swedish and French.

As a sportsperson Isabella exemplifies the highest standards of sporting behaviour and is always competitive on the court. Isabella, with her current rate of improvement, is no doubt well on her way to forging a successful professional tennis career.
