Membership of The Sport Australia Hall of Fame (SAHOF) is the crowning achievement of a sporting career, and represents the highest level of peer recognition for an individual's contribution to his or her sport.

SAHOF recognises and promotes the outstanding sporting achievements of our sportsmen and women to preserve Australia's rich sporting heritage. It is an illustrious group of Australia's most respected and celebrated champions that span time. They are the best of the best, who through their achievements have made a significant contribution to our nations sporting history and have inspired young Australians to achieve their potential in both sport and life. 

The Sport Australia Hall of Fame Membership is divided into two categories;

1. Athlete Members
Athlete Members are those who have competed at the top level of competition available in their chosen sport.

2. General Members
General Members are selected for excellence and outstanding achievements in roles supportive to sports participants (administration, coaching / training, sports media / history, sports science / technology and sports umpiring, refereeing, judging).



  • Any person or organisation may nominate.
  • Please read the Selection Criteria thoroughly and ensure that your nominee meets all requirements.
  • Check that your nominee is not already Inducted by viewing the Membership list.
  • Please ensure you select the correct form for your nomination.

  • All forms must be signed and can be returned via email, post or fax.
  • All sections MUST be completed and detailed citations will assist greatly with the selection process.
  • The office will be unable to process nominations that have inadequate information.
  • Members selected will be notified and invited to accept Membership. Nominators of successful nominees will also be notified.


Please note NO ATTACHMENTS will be accepted. SAHOF will contact you if further information is required.

Nomination forms received prior to December 10 of each year, will be considered for the following year. Any received after this date will be considered for the years thereafter. Nominations do not need to be submitted every year.
